The Umbrella Academy is a fantasy-drama series whose story is based on the comic book series of the same name by Gerard Way. It tells of a dysfunctional family consisting of adopted siblings who have supernatural powers and use them in order to solve the mystery surrounding their father’s death and save the world from collapsing. There are some comedy elements in The Umbrella Academy, too, in addition to its action-packed nature. The creator of The Umbrella Academy for Netflix is Steve Blackman, while Jeremy Slater is the developer of the series. Borderline Entertainment, Dark Horse Entertainment, and Universal Cable Productions are behind the production process of the series.

The series debuted on the popular streaming platform Netflix in February 2019, when the fans greeted it with a warm welcome. Netflix renewed the series and released the second season in July 2020, which was a huge success as well. Both seasons of The Umbrella Academy are critically acclaimed fan favorites. Therefore, the viewers have been waiting for the third season impatiently.

Unfortunately, The Umbrella Academy season 3 release date hasn’t been announced yet. As a matter of fact, we’re far away from it, as the crew is currently filming the season. However, we can always make some guesses. Mid-2022 seems like a good option for Netflix, but we still have to wait for an official announcement on that. Let’s hope they can release the new season as soon as they can.
