Fans will have to wait for more to see Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill together in the Enola Holmes sequel, as it’s not coming to Netflix this August.

As you might remember, Enola Holmes was quite the banger when it was first released in September 2020. A Holmes movie starring Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill, it was inevitable for Enola Holmes to be among the most popular Netflix Originals. The movie did not only have an elite cast, but its narrative was very much liked as well. So, fans have been waiting for updates on a sequel ever since the release.

It was a no-brainer for Netflix to go ahead and make a sequel for the movie. Even though it was only rumored for some time, the streaming service finally announced the start of the production for Enola Holmes this May. Still, the stars were busy shooting for The Witcher and Stranger Things. As Henry Cavill is done with The Witcher and Millie Bobby Brown probably has so little left, it seems they can begin in no time. Netflix is reportedly planning to start filming the Enola Holmes sequel in fall 2021.

As this is the case, not many people were expecting Enola Holmes 2 to make a surprising debut this month. Still, we’re now sure of it as the movie is nowhere to be found on Netflix’s release list for August 2021.

While waiting for new official updates, let’s check out what we currently know about the Enola Holmes sequel.

Henry Cavill and Millie Bobby Brown are going to star in the sequel, quite expectedly.

There are some reports holding that Henry Cavill will get to play more in this movie. Other reports say that Millie Bobby Brown wants to see her friends from Stranger Things in the cast.

The director of the first movie, Harry Bradbeer, is going to helm the sequel, too. The first movie’s scriptwriter Jack Thorne is expected to write the sequel as well. The production process is expected to start by the end of 2021, more precisely, in fall 2021. Nevertheless, we’re short of details on that.

Netflix adapted the first movie from the first novel in Nancy Springer’s critically-acclaimed book series. So, we think that the sequel is going to be based on the second novel, which is titled The Case of the Left-Handed Lady.

“I can’t wait to collaborate again with my Enola Holmes family! Enola holds a special place in my heart – she’s strong, fearless, intelligent, and brave,” says Millie Bobby Brown about her movie, according to Deadline. “I look forward to fans seeing how her journey continues!”

Well, it seems the crew is planning to start filming the sequel this fall. For Netflix, it usually takes a year or more to film and post-produce something.
