When Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, cannot generate controversy on his own, he latches onto others' coattails. The same goes for former President Donald Trump, who has been uncharacteristically on the positive hype lately. The prospect of these two polarizing figures joining forces may not be the ideal political alliance Americans desire. Fortunately, it seems the universe intervened, narrowly averting what his staff called a potentially disastrous partnership.

Their combined ability to spark outrage and division might have been too much for the nation to handle, or so says Trump's former aide, who breathes a sigh of relief having dodged the bullet. 

Sharing her “wildest” experiences at the office, Alyssa Farah Griffin, former White House communications director, revealed a bizarre attempt at "national unity" by Donald Trump. On Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Griffin shared that Trump wanted the Donda rapper, often known to headline news for controversies, to perform a church service on the White House lawn. His staff, however, resisted the proposal and deemed it an ill-conceived attempt at unity.

Alyssa Griffin recalled the exchange, saying, "We were like, 'Not the time or place, sir.'" The idea was surely dismissed, but Griffin's revelation offered a sneak peek into the unconventional thinking that sometimes occurred at the White House, where unifying the country was a stated goal, but the methods were often questionable.

Although this foreseen catastrophe was avoided, Ye and Trump went to shock the world with their smiles and hugs for quite a while.

In a surprising display of allegiance, Ye openly endorsed Trump in 2016, proudly posing for photos with him at Trump Tower in New York City. This marked the beginning of a tumultuous relationship, with Ye frequently sporting a Make America Great Again hat and even receiving an invitation to the White House in 2018. During his visit, Ye proclaimed to Trump that he was on a heroic journey.

Donald Trump, however, was soon to realize that his rap support was short-lived, as Ye surprisingly confessed to casting no votes for him or any other candidate in 2016. By 2020, Ye had publicly renounced his support for Trump, yet found himself breaking bread with the former president in 2022. In recent times, although the two did not link publically, social media made it a point to Kanye-fy the latest Donald trump ordeal which served the likes of Ty Dolla $ign.
