It looks like we’re underway for a new rerelease of some Castlevania games in the name of Castlevania Advance Collection.

Castlevania is racking up numbers on Netflix, yes. The anime adaptation of the popular video game series proved very successful on the streaming platform. It seems this triggered the eagerness of Konami to work on Castlevania even more. That’s because the rating page for a new Castlevania collection surfaced.

Castlevania is coming back with yet another rerelease. Konami‘s last new entry to the popular video game series was in 2014 with Lords of Shadow 2. After that, we only saw ports of already-existing games. The crew seems eager to go on like that as another collection surfaces. A Twitter user spotted the rating of Castlevania Advanced Collection in Australia. Even though the rating does not reveal much to us, it gives us a general idea about what to think.

The first thing that comes to our minds is, naturally, the games this bundle is going to include. Well, as it’s the “Advance” collection, it’s presumably going to consist of the Castlevania games that were released for Game Boy Advance. Namely, those games are Castlevania: Circle of the MoonCastlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. We don’t know whether they will be remastered versions or just ports, but the latter seems more feasible. That’s because Konami earlier released a bundle in 2018, namely, Requiem, which included bare ports for two games. We highly doubt they would give us some remasters this time.

We do not exactly know which platforms the bundle is coming to. The rating page only shows us that Castlevania Advance Collection will be a multi-platform game. The publisher is Konami, as expected. Castlevania Anniversary Edition, which was released in 2019, came to Steam. Therefore, we might expect this one to make its way to PCs, too. We only know that the collection will be a multi-platform one, but there’s no intel as to which platforms those are.

The rating of the collection is M, which is probably the equivalent of a T in ESRB, given the ESRB ratings of the original games.

Castlevania games for GameBoy Advance, which are Castlevania: Circle of the MoonCastlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, were critically acclaimed at the time of their release. Respectively, their Metacritic ratings were 91, 87, and 91. All of them were quite well-received, which shows us a probable collection including those games are going to be good as well. If they would like to remaster those games, it would be even better for the fans. However, let alone a remaster, we don’t even have an official announcement right now. Nevertheless, we can expect Konami to make an announcement in no time following this piece of news.

Let us remind you again that everything we talked about is pure speculation at this point. We’re making some educated guesses, but Konami hasn’t officially commented on the topic yet.
