Cancelling Good Girls Was a Mistake of NBC as It Now Sits in the Top Ranks on Netflix
Every now and then a show gets canceled. But when it’s a fan favorite, then fans have can turn the tide in favor of the show. Case in point, Lucifer. Another canceled show, revived itself once it moved to Netflix. But what about the recently canceled show, Good Girls? One look at the Netflix ranks will convince you that NBC made a blunder. All 17 episodes of season 4 dropped on the platform on March 7. And now the show is sitting at #1 in the United States and has settled itself in #2 globally. It could have pushed through the ranks to occupy the no 1 spot globally, but nothing can dethrone Ryan Reynolds, The Adam Project!
The show first aired on NBC in 2018. Starring Christina Hendricks, Retta, and Mae Whitman, it was about a group of suburban moms short on cash. For some extra income, they decided to break into a grocery store in town. But they didn’t realize that they were stepping into shark waters. Soon they get embroiled in the criminal world. Hendrick’s show had a decent row with four seasons and fifty episodes. It also featured Reno Wilson, Lidya Jewett, Isaiah Stannard, Matthew Lillard, and Manny Montana.

Good girls season 4 controversy on Netflix
The cancellation news was already a blow for the fans. But then fans were heartbroken when they learned that they were in talks about season 5. A discussion was on, to create the last season to say a proper farewell to the characters but it never materialized. “[We] very much wanted to bring Good Girls back for one more season to close out the story,” an insider disclosed to TV Insider. Negotiations with Manny Montana fell through. Manny was not ready to accept a cut in pay.
Despite the sudden spike in its popularity, Good Girls may never become a Netflix Originals. Since the financials could not be sorted out, it is highly unlikely that the streamer can get all the cast members to agree to new contracts.
