Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of the best workplace sitcoms out there and it will return for another season. All seasons including season 7 are now available on Netflix UK, US, Austria, Canada, France, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Malaysia, Philippines, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, and Thailand. In many other countries, season 7 has not made its debut. Though it will be available with its 13 episodes in 2021.
It is official that season 8 is in production. Though unfortunately, the eighth installment of the comedy series will be the final season. The writers of the show did not plan to make season 8 the last, but due to the events that took place in the USA, NBC decided that it was time for Brooklyn 99 to end.

The murder of George Floyd naturally affected the production of the series according to the star comedian Andy Samberg. The actor and the writer stated that it was time for them to step back and think about making a comedy focused on police. He also said that the writer crew tried to create new episodes for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, while also feeling morally stable throughout the process.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast repeatedly said that the writers removed their plans for the season 8 storyline. However, the cast and the crew agreed to consider 10 episodes for the final season of the show.
All seasons except for season 6 had more than 20 episodes.

Like many others, the production of Brooklyn Nine-Nine continues a bit slow due to the pandemic. But Brooklyn 99 season 8 will be available on August 12 2021, on NBC.
Though there is not an exact date for Netflix premiere, we might have to wait for some time before seeing the new episodes on the popular streaming platform. Season 7 consists of 13 episodes and it landed on Netflix in March 2021.

For a show that focuses on the events that happen around a police precinct, it is only natural to expect episodes about BLM movement. Brooklyn Nine-Nine will probably offer a bit less escapism in its final episodes. The writers stated that they do not want to be ignorant about the dire events.
