Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page will not be in season 2

The lead actor of the first season, playing Simon Basset who is the Duke of Hastings, Regé-Jean Page is not going to be playing in the second season. The news was announced with a post on Instagram, which “bid adieu” to Regé-Jean Page. The official account for Bridgerton thanked the actor for what he did up until now. Regé-Jean Page also thanked the Bridgerton family and expressed his feelings towards the series. Citing the reason for his departure as limited commitment, the star earlier revealed that he had a conversation with the producers hinting at him only being for the show in one season. That means it was not that surprising for the crew that he left, but the frustration of the fans is understandable.
