Bridgerton season 2 has fulfilled our thirst for intense romantic drama through the love story of Kate Shama and Anthony Bridgerton, or may we say the Viscount and the Viscountess. Who would have thought that someday a young daughter of a South Asian middle-class man will be the lady of London. Julia Quinn surely knows how to change the fate of someone through her writings, and with the modification of Shonda Rhimes, season 2 is even better.

As season 2 has fulfilled our expectations, we are expecting that will be the case with Bridgerton season 3 and season 4. According to the books of Julia Quinn, the Bridgerton siblings will find their love according to their age, except Daphne. This season follows the story of Anthony Bridgerton, and the coming seasons will follow Benedict and Colin and their journey of finding love. But will the series go according to the novel set of Julia Quinn?

As season 3 and season 4 already renewed by Netflix, based on the precedent, Bridgerton season 3 should focus on Benedict Bridgerton aka Luke Thompson. But, however, a comment from Shonda Rhimes has changed all the direction of the series. She claims the show has diverted from the show, so anything can happen in season 3. Will it highlight the story of Benedict, Colin, or Eloise?

Bridgerton was renewed for season three in 2021

Even before the release of season 2, the streaming giant already renewed the show for season 3. With the love story of Bridgerton’s siblings, Lady Whistledown has to buy more ink to pass down the gossip through her columns.

With the release of Bridgerton season 2 in March 2022, season 3 is on its way for filming and development. So, we have to wait a minimum of one year for next season. Perhaps at the end of 2023.

The third book of Bridgerton focuses on Benedict Bridgerton

If the show follows Quinn’s book set, then Benedict played by Luke Thompson will be the next Bridgerton brother to fall in love. “An Offer From a Gentleman” is a modern version of Cinderella. Sophie Beckett is the illegitimate daughter of an earl. After the death of her father, she’s forced into servitude by her stepmother, who withholds money from Sophie’s will.

One evening, she broke into the Bridgerton family’s masquerade ball, and dance the whole evening with Benedict. Benedict never forgets the mysterious woman he danced with that evening and searches for her. The best part of Quinn’s novel is that she breaks the barriers between the two worlds.

But also can follow Colin Bridgerton

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Shonda Rhimes explains, “We’re not necessarily going in order, but we’re going to be seeing each one of the siblings and their stories.” 

If they follow the journey of Colin Bridgerton played by Luke Newton, it will also involve Penelope Featherington. The show will highlight the romance of Colin and Penelope and the revelation of Lady Whistledown.

So, as we can conclude, Eloise is also in the line. But she still needs some time to find love. As Benedict and Colin’s stories had already progressed a bit further. We can expect Shonda Rhimes to either choose Benedict or Colin for Bridgerton season 3.
