Because of some cases, Bridgerton season 2 stopped filming indefinitely a while ago. To our delight, they started filming again.

As you might remember, the production of Bridgerton’s second season paused for a day because of a pandemic case. Soon after that, another positive case came out, and this led Netflix to halt the production for an indefinite amount of time. Many fans saw this as the correct call as many others could have been infected. Furthermore, chances are the second case is probably among one of the actors. We don’t know who they are.

Fortunately, we now know that nothing’s wrong and they are back at it again. The infected members isolated themselves and the new season is in the works right now. That piece of news comes from Variety, which also reported the previous pauses. Here is what the showrunner Chris van Dusen had to say about the current production status of Bridgerton season 2.

“We are back under way. We had to delay because of COVID, but we’re back in it.”

He also revealed that he is editing the first episodes right now. According to the showrunner, things look great.

“Right now I’m in post, editing our first couple episodes, which are looking great.”

So yeah, production for Bridgerton’s second season is underway again. We’ll now wait for new updates about the new season.

Even though this setback will make us wait a little longer for the release date, we can’t help but wonder when Bridgerton season 2 will be released. Let’s check out the possibilities about the release date and see if we can figure something out.

There’s no official announcement about the release date right now, as we implied before. The crew just started filming a couple of months ago and it’s still too early to say anything for certain. We still have a good projection of the premiere date, though.

If Bridgerton’s crew can pull off a production process just like the first season, we can expect season 2 to drop around Summer 2022. What’s more, Netflix series usually takes a year and more to film and release after the production starts. Bridgerton’s second season started filming around the start of Summer 2021. That’s why we expect the new season to be released the next summer.

Things can also be better though. Recently, Netflix surprises the fans with sooner release dates than expected. Although it’s not very likely, we can see Bridgerton season 2 on Netflix around April-May 2022, provided the crew does a fast job.

All in all, it’s best to expect Bridgerton season 2 to be on Netflix around the next summer.

If you wonder what’s next for Bridgerton after the second season, we’ve got some good news for you. The series was renewed for seasons 3 and 4, so there are at least two more seasons after S2. Julia Quinn’s novel series has a lot more entries, so Bridgerton might continue even after the fourth season. That’s a question for the distant future, though. We’ll see how the new seasons will do.
