Bridgerton season 2 isn’t coming to Netflix in September 2021
Bridgerton season 2 is not going to make its way to the popular streamer in the following month. When should we expect it to drop, though?
As we all know, Bridgerton is among the most popular Netflix Originals on the platform. Telling of a powerful British family in the Regency era, this series racked up great viewer numbers for Netflix. That’s why Netflix decided to renew it for a second season after the original release in December 2020. Right now, they are filming the second season, which the fans are waiting for eagerly.
The filming process took off earlier in May 2021. However, it did not go very well because of the pandemic. Recently, a positive case halted the production of the series for a day. After that, more cases prompted the crew to stop filming indefinitely. Fortunately, the infected crew or cast member was isolated, and earlier in this month, the crew started where they left off. They are now continuing filming Bridgerton‘s highly-anticipated second season.

So, they still have a long way to go to finish filming. As the situation stands like this, we do not expect Bridgerton season 2 to be on Netflix by the end of 2021, let alone in September. While waiting for some new official updates on the new season, let’s check out when we can expect it to drop.
It usually takes Netflix around 6-7 months to film and 6-8 months to post-produce a single season. Given that there was a pause in the filming process, we expect Bridgerton season 2 to wrap up around November or December 2021.
After that, the post-production process will start. It’ll most likely take around half a year or more. So, we expect the new season of Bridgerton to be released around Summer 2022.

Currently, there aren’t any official updates on Bridgerton season 2. Therefore, everything we say about it is pure prediction at this point. Still, schedules rarely disappoint us, so keep an eye out for the next summer.
Bridgerton is going to have more seasons after the second one, that’s confirmed. Netflix has already renewed Bridgerton for seasons 3 and 4 before the release of the second season. It seems the platform is really confident in Bridgerton, which has been a great success up until now.
After the release of seasons 3 and 4, there’s still a chance that Bridgerton can go on. Netflix will probably check out the numbers and decide whether end it or continue with it. The content is no problem, as there are many other books from the novel series of Julia Quinn, which is the source of inspiration for Netflix‘s Bridgerton.

Note that Bridgerton will also have a spin-off series created by Shonda Rhimes. It will be centered on the younger Queen Charlotte and how she rises to the throne. It series will also show the viewers the struggles of the young queen’s love life. Golda Rosheuvel will play young Charlotte and Ruth Gemmell will portray young Violet Bridgerton in the upcoming Bridgerton spin-off. We don’t know anything about a release date yet.
