Bridgerton Season 2 Cast Now Has More Newcomers Announces Netflix
We heard the sad news of the lead character of Bridgerton, Regé-Jean Page is not going to be in the upcoming season sadly. It also turned out there will be 2 new names in the cast. And now, Netflix announces officially that Bridgerton season 2 will have 4 new names in total as well. So, who are they?
Bridgerton has broken many Netflix records after it released and become the most-talked series on the platform as well. And while all fans are waiting eagerly to reunite with the beloved characters of the series, it turns out Bridgerton season 2 seems to have 4 newcomers as one of the most beloved characters of it leaves. The series’ fans have shocked by this piece of news as expected. And while they are still trying to process that news, Netflix announces four new cast members to get excited about.
Earlier, we heard the news of the anticipated series was adding Simone Ashley, Charithra Chandran, and Rupert Young. And today, Netflix announces that Shelley Conn and Calam Lynch are also joining among them in Bridgerton season 2.

So, Netflix has announced earlier that Simone Ashley, known for her work in Sex Education, Broadchurch, and The Sister, would be the women who are going to be involved in Anthony’s life. And all the new names seem to be regulars in the second season’s ensemble as well along with her. And we also know that Bridgerton season 2 will be following the second book of the novels which the series is based on and named The Viscount Who Loved Me. The next season is expected to begin production this spring in the UK.
And after all, Netflix announced confirmed the upcoming season‘s casting in a press release as it also includes a brief summary of the newcomers. Chandran will play as Edwina, Kate Sharma’s younger sister and the first one who actually captures the Viscount’s attention in the first place. She is described by the streaming platform as “has been taught by her older sister Kate to be the perfect debutante. She’s kind-natured and endlessly endearing. But while she may be young and naive, she also knows what she wants: a true love match.”

Conn will play Lady Mary Sharma, who is Kate and Edwina’s mother. “An Earl’s daughter whose marriage to a tradesman once embroiled her family in a scandal, Lady Mary has now returned to London with her own daughters and is forced to endure the scrutiny of the ton yet again,” Netflix says about her.
Lynch on the other side, will play Theo Sharpe, who is described as “a hardworking printer’s assistant” and “an intellectual who fights for the rights for all,” by Netflix.
Ultimately, Young will be playing Jack, a character who is actually created for the show by showrunner Chris Van Dusen, so does not exist in the books. Netflix says that Jack is “the newest member of the ton with a connection to one of its most notable families.”
