Bridgerton has broken many Netflix records after it released and become the most-talked series on the platform as well. And while all fans are waiting eagerly to reunite with the beloved characters of the series, it turns out Bridgerton season 2 is also adding 2 new names to among those names as well.

Earlier, we heard the news of the anticipated series was adding Simone Ashley to its cast as Kate Sharma who seems to be Anthony’s love interest in Bridgerton season 2. And now, it also looks like there are and will be more, as it is said there are two more newcomers as well! According to the news, the upcoming season will include Charithra Chandran and Rupert Young as well. So, let’s take a look at who they will be presenting during the show.

So, Netflix has announced earlier that Simone Ashley, known for her work in Sex Education, Broadchurch, and The Sister, would be the women who are going to be involved in Anthony’s life. And we also know that Bridgerton season 2 will be following the second book of the novels which the series is based on and named The Viscount Who Loved Me. The next season is expected to begin production this spring in the UK.

It is about the eldest Bridgerton, Anthony, who is titled, rich, and handsome. So that makes him quite sought and a perfect candidate for the ladies who also look for a suitable marriage and husband as you can understand. And on the contrast of our Duke of Hastings Simon Basset, Anthony will be looking for a woman suitable to be his Viscountess. So yes, maybe the storylines don’t always follow their original letters from the books in most adaptations. But it is official that Bridgerton season 2 will be focusing on Anthony, as in the book.

In this case, we already knew that Ashley’s Kate is the smart, headstrong young woman who is to get involved with Anthony. And Charithra Chandran and Rupert Young will join beside her as Edwina and Jack. Edwina is the younger sister of Kate Sharma and the first one who actually captures the Viscount’s attention in the first place. Seems like we might also have a sister conflict along with a love triangle, after all.

On the other side, Rupert Young will be playing a character who is actually created for the show by showrunner Chris Van Dusen, so does not exist in the books. Jack is a member of Ton with a connection to a Bridgerton mystery and one of the most notable families along. So, doesn’t it smell to you too, like there are much more scandalous on their way in Bridgerton season 2? Yummy!

Bridgerton season 2 will also continue to break conventions as it has done the same in the first season by shaping and changing the series into reimagined, a multi-racial world of early 1800s London high society. It introduced us to several major Black characters including the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh), and Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) in the first season. And now, it seems the producers have changed Kate and Edwina’s last name in Quinn’s novel as being of Indian descent in order to continue their attitude on the first season through season 2.

So with those possibilities, they bring along the expectations, and eagerly for Bridgerton season 2 just keeps growing day by day. And being a newcomer in the Ton is never easy, also getting used to their rules, too. It will be really interesting to see how they will be handling things and how Kate and Anthony will come together in the upcoming season.
