If The Wife of Bath from Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales were alive; she would surely love Alyssa Milano’s character in Brazen. The mystery is now streaming on Netflix. It is based on mystery writer Nora Roberts’s novel Brazen Virtue.
Grace is a prominent mystery writer and crime expert. Currently living in DC, she hurries back to her family home, when her provoked sister sent for her. Her sister is killed right before she comes back home. Moreover, her double life as a webcam performer is out in the open. Ignoring the warnings of a cool-headed detective, Grace gets involved in the case.
Fans review Brazen on Netflix
Variety described the movie as “Not quite flamboyant enough to be a camp-value keeper, “Brazen” nonetheless does chalk up more than its share of unintentional yoks.’ They further mentioned “In a way, the expert if generic gloss lent that material by telepic veteran Mitchell and her collaborators heightens its fun, whether in ways intended or not. Hitting every expected narrative and tonal mark on cue, this may be an ostensible serial-killer thriller, but the only thing “Brazen” here is the film’s dedication to a particular kind of viewing comfort food.”

Moreover, the Netflix Original gets an IMDb rating of 3.3/10. A user in IMDb’s comment mentions they do not regret watching the movie. They write ‘Nora Roberts is an incredible writer, and I thought this movie played and paced well, just like the book. Alyssa Milano is pretty much known (now) for her Hallmark-y type movies, so with those expectations, I didn’t find myself disappointed or enlightened. Take it with a grain of salt.’
The Twitteratis gave mixed reviews about the film. Some called it “worst of the year”, whereas others felt it was “good”. Check out some of the fan tweets.
