Blonde was supposed to launch in 2020. However, it was pushed back to September 2022. While talking about his film, Dominik said that the film’s upcoming release is an intriguing moment.
He said so because he felt if it had come out immediately when MeToo happened, it would have been an expression of all those things. At the same time, talking about the film’s new adult rating. Dominik, even though earlier being angry about it, said that he understands it now.

While further explaining the NC-17 certificate that the film has, Dominik went on to comment, “On the one hand, I think if I’m given the choice, I’d rather go and see the NC-17 version of the Marilyn Monroe story.
And when asked if Netflix will be worried about the film, he said, “Netflix is a big business with much bigger fish to fry than Blonde, in terms of where they spend their money.”
