One of the gifted actors in Hollywood is Leonardo DiCaprio. Ever since his teenage years, he has given the industry back-to-back blockbusters. He has always been at the top of the game–from giving amazing performances as iconic figures and historical characters to making our heads spin with suspense films and action thrillers.
Ahead of his new Netflix film Don’t Look Up, let’s take a look at some of his best films that you can stream on Netflix.
What’s Eating Gilbert Grape
What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, was Leonardo DiCaprio’s first major film. His awestruck performance had captured many audiences and even earned an Academy Award nomination. He played the mentally impaired younger brother of the title character in the 1993 film. This is one of the magnetic and compassionate performances by DiCaprio.
One of the greatest films in Hollywood is Titanic. DiCaprio has done an amazing job as Jack Dawson- a character who will be cemented in cinematic history forever. A real-life tragic sinking story of a ship, the Titanic, which struck an iceberg during the voyage, inspired the film. The character of Jack by Leonardo is unique.
Swoony, and charming, Dawson left a lasting mark on the hearts of movie fans for decades. DiCaprio even earned a Golden Globe nomination for the role. However, this was one of the many times that he got snubbed at the Academy Awards.
Inspired by Dennis Lehane’s novel, Shutter Island is perhaps one of the best suspense-thriller films. Directed by Martin Scorsese, the film features Leonardo DiCaprio as Deputy U.S. Marshall Teddy Daniels. He is a man investigating an isolated psychiatric facility and searching for a missing patient — a woman who’d been committed after killing her three kids. Teddy, who tries to unfold the mystery, finds out that there’s more to it.
Django Unchained is an American western film by Quentin Tarantino. The action movie features Leonardo as a heinous slave owner who captures slaves and forces them to fight to the death for entertainment.
