A year ago Netflix announced that it was joining forces with the video game developer Ubisoft to create new stories in the world of Assassin’s Creed. Ubisoft is the creator and the publisher of Assassin’s Creed series in addition to many other brilliant video game IPs.

Though it is official that Netflix has an Assassin’s Creed live-action series and animated series in the works, we do not have any information about their release dates.

On the other hand, we know that the production was in search of a showrunner during the time of the announcement. Now according to Aymar Azaizia, who serves as a director in video game series; some of the cast members are already chosen. This might mean that the showrunner is decided as well. We know that Jason Atman and Danielle Kreinik from Ubisoft are in the crew too.

The interview also revealed that the cast and the crew are currently focusing on Netflix Far Cry animated series. So Assassin’s Creed animation will probably land after this one. Far Cry, on the other hand, is another IP that Netflix and Ubisoft agreed to make a TV show.

The studio developing the animated series called Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Vibe. This series is actually based on Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. One of the least known games in the franchise, Blood Dragon is a Far Cry game depicting a post-nuclear world with lots of synthwave and absurd humor.

To sum up, we can say that the release date for Assassin’s Creed animated series has not been announced yet. Though we will definitely see it after Far Cry, which is a long way ahead.
