Will Netflix Bring to Life the Most Iconic Orange Town Arc Fight With Its ‘One Piece’ Live-Action Adaptation?
Anime fans have been reluctantly willing to allow Netflix another chance at righting its wrongs when it comes to live-action anime adaptations. This time, however, it is One Piece that finds itself at the mercy of the OTT mogul. Or with $18 million invested in crafting every episode of the upcoming season 1 to perfection, it is Netflix that has trusted the Straw Hat Pirates to save not only its limbs but also its crown. Will this daring gambit end up in a sweeping victory for the dreamy-eyed streamer or another tale for anime fans to forlorn or fight?
To ensure that the odds are in its favor, Netflix seems to have gone for the stars if its One-Piece live-action adaptation trailer is anything to go by. But fans are curious if the Orange Town arc and its best fight are also a part of its elaborate and notably extravagant plan to win over Otakus.

On the 17th of June, as Netflix gathered its brightest stars to make its biggest announcements, the One Piece trailer launch was an event on its own. After putting on their Sherlock Holmes glasses and doing their due diligence, fans have concluded that the season is set to follow the early arcs of the One Piece anime: the Orange Town arc. As the trailer starts with Monkey D. Luffy stumbling upon Zoro in his quest to find a “loyal crew“, it will naturally unfold to them butting heads with the notorious Buggy Pirates.
If the snippets from the trailer do not have you convinced, then perhaps the role of Cabaji being booked for Season 1 will.
Sven Ruygrok, who is known for his work in the Spud franchise, will be putting his pirate hat and best swordsmanship skills on display. But will both his hat and sword taste dust against Zoro in Season 1 of Netflix’s live-action adaptation?

Among the Straw Hat Pirates, Monkey’s hat to become the Greatest Pirate and Zoro’s to become the greatest swordsman has become the crux of the series. It is ultimately what drives the group to their grand adventures. And the foundation stones to make them the highlight were laid back in the earlier arcs itself. One such scene was that of Zoro in the Orange Town arc. The green-haired pirate with a resolute aim fights against odds and injuries with the Buggy Pirates.
While he weaves his sword with ease, known only to a warrior, he struggles against Cabaji’s sword. But Zoro ultimately puts on not just a display of bravery but also his iconic three-sword style and marks one of the most iconic fight scenes in One Piece. The Netflix trailer features Zoro fighting with all his might against a swordsman. Although the head is not in the frame, the flamboyant costume indicates it is Cabaji. If it is true that Netflix is leaving no stones unturned, then a Cabaji vs Zoro is promised for One Piece Season 1.
