As Dragon Ball is going ahead, fans are deeply worried that it will change the iconic outfit of Son Goku. Being one of the most favorite characters in the manga series and the anime, his looks matter the most. In fact, this mighty warrior has barely changed his outlook even after headlining the series over the years. His orange dogi is considered legendary in the anime world and is a symbol of his honor. This is why it remains a constant debate among viewers whether they are ready to accept this transformation or not.

For people who need a refresher, Son Goku wore an all-blue outfit in the last episode of Dragon Ball Z. This new outfit gave many viewers hope that he would finally hang up his usual gi. It was different from the usual color of the Turtle Hermit school and gave a cool feel. Not to mention, fans connected this bright color with the development of his character and how he has become more reposeful.

Now his Super costume is grappling with his default attire for what this monkey-tailed boy would wear reports CBR. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time this character has been seen in a new outfit. There are several events when he wore different outfits, including the “Xeno Goku” look, which features a long red coat and a black undershirt.

Thus, these changes state that change in costume certainly do not define this iconic fighter. No matter what he wears, his essence will remain the same. Meanwhile, considering the way Goku has grown out of his former image in the past years, his look certainly needs an update.

Why does Son Goku need a new look in the Dragon Ball franchise? 

First of all, the presentation of his unique look in Z‘s epilogue hinted at the fact that Goku has become his own master. The orange dogi has been a part of the character’s identity for a long time and fans have become attached to it. But this doesn’t mean that he is restricted to be in that attire forever and discarding won’t make him any less.

The new outlook will only give him a refreshed start and will become a reminder of the journey that he has been through. As of now, there has been no official update on the matter if the creators will choose to give him a new avatar or will follow up on the classic one. However, if they give it a thought, there is certainly no shame in presenting him as a more matured and skillful Goku.
