It has almost been 18 years since Makoto Yukimura’s Vinland Saga was first released worldwide. Since its release, the Shonen manga has become an exemplary anime. Recently, amidst the ongoing San Diego Comic-Con, Yukimura sat down for an interview to discuss his Viking epic. During his conversation with Anime News Network, the author had advice for fans who were just interested in the violence within the manga. Yukimura said, “If you really want to read about things like violence, you should consider Attack on Titan.”
The creator admitted that he received a lot of complaints from the fans who disliked Thorfinn’s arc and were unhappy seeing him return to his village. Yukimura added that even though he received the complaints at the same time, he could not help them. Vinland Saga first sailed ship in 2019 when season one graced our screens with the first 18 episodes of the historical anime. Following that, it took nearly four years for the second installment of the show to release. As the anime gloriously returned to our screens on June 2023, fans are now curious about season 3 of the show.
Much to the fans’ disappointment, there is no announcement of a third season as of late. However, the speculated release window remains between 2025 and 2027. The first two seasons have merely covered less than 100 episodes of the manga. So the fans can expect a new season and beyond that as well.
