The entire storyline of the popular manga series revolves around “One Piece” which is also its title. Even though no one is aware of the nature of this treasure, one who acquires it will become the pirate king. This desire of wanting to be the Pirate King drove many pirates to search for “One Piece“, including Luffy. However, the mystery surrounding what the treasure actually is has been a discussion for quite a long time.
Some theories suggest that the friendship Luffy makes during his adventure would be the “real treasure” he and his friends have been looking for. However, this would be a letdown for the fans who have been eagerly anticipating the moment Luffy and his friends get their reward. Thankfully, the creator of the best-selling manga series clarified the nature of this treasure. During a conversation with Momoko Sakura on her 30th anniversary as a manga artist, Oda revealed that “One Piece” is in fact real and tangible.
While it is confirmed that Luffy is not going on a deadly adventure for nothing, the reason for his embarking on this journey is truly heartwarming.

Anyone who is aware of the One Piece series knows that Monkey D. Luffy desires to follow in the footsteps of the former pirate king, Gold D. Rogers. However, it is not something that the captain of the straw hats always wanted. Luffy grew up with a desire for adventure and liberation, which became the reason for his admiration towards the red-haired pirates, especially Shanks. Shanks was the driving force behind Luffy’s inspiration to embark on a quest to find the mythical treasure.
In order to honor Shanks, Luffy promised him that one day he would become the greatest pirate of all time, marking the beginning of his journey to acquire the treasure. While fans are going crazy to watch the live-action series on their screens, time will only tell whether the series will be able to meet their expectations.
