Netflix’s announcement of the live-action adaptation of one of the greatest manga series of all time has weebs around the world talking and speculating. And the streamer clearly knows how to intensify those speculations one step at a time. From steadily announcing new actors to making fans think about how Netflix will go about creating such a long adaptation of One Piece, the streaming giant has kept the fans hooked. Notably, one such discussion arose when fans got to know that the mastermind behind the original manga series, illustrator Eiichiro Oda, will be an ingrained part of the series.

Being successfully able to balance humor action and drama, the anime has seemingly appealed to a plethora of viewers. Furthermore, fans often appreciate its stunning animation and unique storyline, and well-developed characters. And well, the credit goes to none other than the Japanese manga creator Eiichiro Oda who blessed the weebs with this cultural phenomenon. And when he joined Netflix’s production team, redditors were quick to pass their two cents.

When one of the fans asked if Oda being directly involved with the One Piece live actions gives fans more hope about it, they apparently oozed out their feelings. While some wrote that the actors who will be a part of this potentially long bugging series are in for a treat. Others, however, some were concerned about the CGIs and the amount of time it is going to take.

Others say that although they do not think One Piece is for a live-action adaptation, it seems like the writers are really careful about the script and Oda’s involvement is a testament to this fact.

Some hope that it will be like Sandman and so everything will just be fine.

Written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, the story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young boy whose body gains the properties of rubber after unintentionally eating a Devil Fruit. Luffy sets out on a journey to find the legendary treasure known as One Piece and becomes the Pirate King.

Although we do not have many details about the live-action adaptation, we do know a few casting details and it is perhaps the longest experiment helmed by Netflix.
