When creator Akira Toriyama created Frieza for Dragon Ball Z, he had the image of a real-life group that he loathed. It was not until recently that fans realized he was referring to real estate giants in Japan. During a discussion on platforms like Reddit, Redditors came to that conclusion after some deep research and theories. The events occurred during the 80s in Japan when the country went through an economic bubble. It was the way that the real estate players worked that resembles Frieza’s actions.
They apparently took advantage of the economic bubble by buying houses themselves and then selling them off at an even higher price. Frieza, on the other hand, would empty planets before selling them off in a similar pattern. The creator’s hatred for such people could be seen through the series, as he called them, ‘the worst kind of people’.
The observation did not end there, however. Fans dug deeper to understand the backstory of the imaginary villain.

The observation of Frieza’s actions was also dissected by some fans. They felt that the character did not sell planets out of malice, but rather for professional reasons. That it was not his mission, but rather just a day job and rivalries with Goku only helped him stay motivated.
Although as the anime progressed, he even turned from being a rival to an ally of Goku in Universe Survival Saga. But the anime is perhaps filled will many such real-life situations.
