What makes a great show apart from story and direction, is the actors or their voices that we get used to. One Piece was one such anime that could make its fan guess the character merely by hearing their voices. That is the beauty of voice actors, who gain recognition and love by perfectly altering their voices to suit their characters. While One Piece flourished through these members, it is ready to take the next step now.

The lead actor of Netflix’s upcoming One Piece live-action series, Iñaki Godoy, recently posed for a photo with Mayumi Tanaka, who gave voice to One Piece’s lead pirate. While Godoy’s talent will be seen after the show’s release, Tanaka is the whole soul of the original anime that solidified the franchise globally. Both smiled at the camera as they held a drawing of the lead character, Monkey D. Luffy.

Other photos also show them hugging each other, and him kneeling down as if to get her blessings.

From costumes to locations, a lot of fans are discussing the idea of Netflix making One Piece a live-action series. Now the photo of Iñaki Godoy and Mayumi Tanaka has won the hearts of many fans. They are calling it ‘cute’ and ‘adorable’ to see the two generations come together due to the beloved manga.

“Two Luffys,” said one fan, who was left emotional to see the photo of the icon with her younger counterpart, at least in the fantasy world.

One anime lover could feel the magnitude of the photo, acknowledging how lucky the actor is, while another acknowledged how attractive Godoy is.

The new Netflix show brings opportunities now just for him, but also for Tanaka. Since many in Japan still do not speak English, the series will be dubbed by her for the fanbase there. And a fan rightfully pointed out the same.
