After a Stunning First Look, Netflix’s Live Action ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Announces Its Episode Titles
A trope frequent in today’s OTT releases is the attention to detail paid on a microscopic level. And as Netflix prepares the launch of its make-or-break project aka the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender, it is revisiting these details that gave it some of its most applaud-worthy projects. While its origin is still unclear, it was when the screen darkened to read ‘Wednesday’s Child is Full of Woe‘ at the bottom of the screen that the viewer squirmed in anticipation of what the first episode of Tim Burton’s Wednesday was going to offer.
This was again noticed when Lee Sung Jin masterfully titled the first episode of Beef as ‘The Birds Don’t Sing, They Screech in Pain’. A metaphor that summarized the entire episode. To no surprise, program creator Albert Kim has taken notes from these works of art.

While it is unfair that Netflix is tasked with the burden of correcting a zillion mistakes with its live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender, it certainly is not backing away from the challenge. This was evident as the streaming mogul proudly showcased the first look of a few notable characters during its TUDUM event. And this was followed by the confirmation of episode titles in order.
The premiere of the series will be marked by an episode titled The Last Airbender. As evident by the title, it will get the audience acquainted with Aang, our beloved Avatar Airbender. This will be followed by seven more episodes that have titles that seem to be laced with an attention-grabbing potion.
While a lot of attention was paid to naming the episodes The Last Airbender, Warriors, Omashu, Into the Dark, Spirited Away, Masks, The North, and ultimately Legends in order, fans have other concerns.
Is this another M. Night Shyamalan?
Whoever said time heals all wounds had not met the victims of the 2010 film The Last Airbender. Often regarded as a cinematic catastrophe by the anime community, it has rendered them skeptical of any live-action anime project. This stands especially true for Avatar: The Last Airbender. The series thrives on the animated magic of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. And the teaser trailer and casting have done little to ease their sorrows.
