Prince Harry and Prince William, the brother-turned-arc-nemesis, did plunge the royal family into a crisis, but things seemed to have simmered down as the Duke called it quits with the family. Nonetheless, once unshakeable, their relationship succumbed to palace politics, media scrutiny, and royal duty. A simmering rivalry has escalated into a full-blown feud, with no end in sight. While the brothers have turned their faces against one another, their families too, have followed suit.

As the family struggles to maintain appearances, sources reveal the only time Prince Harry had one of his own family members standing tall. 

According to Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, as published by the Mirror, a 2002 newspaper article headlined "Harry's Drugs Shame" falsely accused him of substance abuse issues, leaving him "shattered". The Duke labels the article as "lies", stating it portrayed him as a habitual drug user and claimed he had recently been to rehab, which he denies. "Rehab!" he wrote, in his record-breaking memoir, pressing on the falsity of the claim. However, his bewilderment was nowhere close to the anger that Prince William felt after reading the article.

The article, which the Spare brother claimed was based on photos of him visiting a rehab center for charity work, sparked anger in both, him and his brother Prince William. Prince Harry revealed further that his brother was "even angrier" than him over the accusations printed. That incident was more or less the one when the future king lost it all.

Nonetheless, that support was much short-lived before it turned into something totally opposite. 

Prince Harry's bombshell book spilled the beans on a shocking brawl between him and Prince William. The Duke revealed how Prince William in a fit of pique, thrashed him down to a dog bowl, having engaged in a physical altercation. Following the same, their relationship took no time to hit rock bottom, with tensions running high. The incident was a powder keg waiting to explode, and it finally did.
