The Sandman season 2 scripts are already being written!

In an interview with Den of Geek, executive producer David S. Goyer, who also co-created the comic book adaption, disclosed that the yet-to-be-confirmed second season was in the works. He believes that having already educated fans about the basic idea of the narrative, it’s kind of easier to write the script for The Sandman season 2.

“We’ve shown how the dreaming life can affect the waking world. With that groundwork done, the show can now build on those themes,” he said. “They’re more like jazz, where you get to plan variations, and we get to stretch our wings a bit more.”

However, before approving any additional seasons of The Sandman, Netflix is apparently waiting to see how Season 1 performs. Neil Gaiman, who is also co-creator of The Sandman, seemed optimistic about the possibility of a second season for the show. Gaiman, who co-created the Netflix series with David Goyer and Allan Heinberg, recently gushed about how excellent Season 1 has turned out and named Episode 6, “The Sound of Her Wings,” the one he wants people to see the most.
