After Racing Cars, Netflix to Bring Bicycles With ‘On Your Bike’ Documentary Series on Tour de France From the Producers of Formula 1: Drive to Survive

For viewers, Netflix is bringing the prestigious and difficult bicycle race, Tour de France, in a documentary format. The streaming giant is partnering with ASO, to make a documentary series, On Your Bike. It will be about the contestant and their participation in the competition.

Drive to Survive become popular among the audience on Netflix in no time. This opened a gateway for a joint venture between Quad Productions and Drive to Survive producer Box to Box Films to bring the iconic road race. This documentary will follow 8 teams taking the most challenging bike race. The eight-episode documentary will be successful with the participation of France Télévisions. There are no celebrities or no famous personalities, just a bunch of common individuals like us, who are trying to achieve the impossible.

What the Netflix documentary series, On Your Bike, is about?

On Your Bike will explore the journey of eight teams, from cyclists to team managers. And highlight their own personal journeys throughout the bike race. They will take audiences behind the scenes in an effort to understand the multiple stakes at play in the challenging race, broadcasting in 190 different countries. The eight teams that will take part in the race are AG2R Citroën Team, Alpecin-Fenix, BORA-Hansgrohe, EF Education-EasyPost, Groupama-FDJ cycling Team, Ineos Grenadiers, Team Jumbo-Visma, and Team Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl.

According to Deadline, the filming will start from March 2022 to July 2022. And we can hope to watch the documentary at the end of 2022 or early 2023. Tour de France will begin in Denmark on July 1st, 2022, and will finish in Paris on July 24th, 2022.

In conversation with Deadline, Dolores Emile, the Manager, EMEA Unscripted & Doc Series (France) at Netflix claims, “We are very proud to unveil additional aspects of the emblematic Tour de France. This is a unique opportunity to dive into the stories of its inspiring characters!”

Even Yann Le Moënner, Directeur Général of A.S.O., gave his insight about the Paris tour. He explains he is very proud of the collaboration with Netflix, France Télévisions, and the Tour de France teams. He promised the documentary will offer fans a unique immersion behind the scenes.
