And now, with his documentary series Welcome to Wrexham bagging a quadruple Emmys, he has further strengthened his status as the man of the moment.

As listed by Variety, Welcome to Wrexham, the Netflix documentary series produced by Ryan Reynolds, has made an impressive sweep at the 2024 Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The show has secured four major wins, including Directing for a Variety Special and Unstructured Reality Program. While these categories recognize the show's exceptional storytelling and direction, the following showcase the team's technical excellence. 

The additional wins for Picture Editing for Unstructured Reality Programming and Sound Mixing for a Reality Program have set it apart from other documentary series. Earlier this year in January, Welcome to Wrexham won five Primetime Emmy Awards for 2024, including Best Unstructured Reality Program, Best Directing, Cinematography, Picture Editing, and Sound Mixing for a reality show.

Reynolds' production company, Maximum Effort, is basking in the glory with more coming ahead for the Primetime Emmys 2024. 

Welcome to Wrexham is poised for another Emmy sweep, with a significant edge in predictions, say industry experts. After winning five awards last year, including Best Unstructured Reality Program, the series has six additional nominations this year. Gold Derby users and experts overwhelmingly predict its win, with 20 out of 24 Top Users and 5 out of 8 Expert journalists surveyed favoring the show.

However, Love on the Spectrum, which swept three awards last year, also has strong support giving a tough edge to the Wrexham's. With four nominations this year, including a first-time nod for directing, the series has gained more recognition from the academy. While Welcome to Wrexham is the clear frontrunner, Emmy voters' past enthusiasm for both shows makes the outcome uncertain.
